Surrogate Aerodynamic Wing Modeling Based on a Multilayer Perceptron

The aircraft conceptual design step requires a substantial number of aerodynamic configuration evaluations. Since the wing is main lifting element, focus on solving direct and reverse problems. former could be solved using low-cost computational model, but latter unlikely, even for these models. Surrogate modeling technique simplifying complex models that reduces time. In this work, surrogate based implementation multilayer perceptron (MLP), presented. input data consist geometrical characteristics airfoil flight conditions. Some MLP hyperparameters are defined evolutionary algorithms, learning curves, cross-validation methods. predicts coefficients (drag, lift, pitching moment) with high agreement substituted model. can predict compressible flow up to 0.6 M. developed has achieved almost 800 times faster in computing time than model which it was trained. application will enable rapid study effects changes various parameters conditions performance, related modernization new vehicles.
